Have You Seen the New 2006 Honda Civic?

I got my first look at a real live-2006 Honda Civic. Impressive, to say the least. Almost completely redesigned and despite the criticism, the car looks good. The interior looks even better. Let me tell you my take on the vehicle on hand.
I got in the car, which seems more spacious than last year. The first thing you notice is a two-tier instrument panel. Its all black, it is hard to see what is happening on every level. With a building from the time the key, the bottom line is illuminated with a center-mounted tachometer, while the upper tier shows a digital speedometer. This provides a much cleaner looking console, believe it or not, and I could my eyes on my speed and the street at the same time.
The LX model I looked at was a 4-door model with a 5-speed gearbox. He had the standard 140hp 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine. But the new Civic DX comes with the standard features you need. Like all airbags - not just the front. You get the side curtains and back and airbags. ABS is standard with EBD - Electronic Brake Distribution. It applies more braking power, where it is needed, depending on your load. Power windows are standard, but with the LX complements the car up / down feature.
The LX also had a nice radio with 160 watts power. Remote entry, cruise control, 16 " wheels - albeit with hubcaps - AC and power door locks.
The the EX-ups ante to a nicer radio, 16 " aluminum wheels, moonroof, and an optional satellite navigation system. 4-wheel disc brakes round out this model as the best of them all.
The hybrid is different. It has a smaller engine, but with the large electric motor. You do not have to plug it in or anything. He even charges. The transmission is a continuously variable type. The dealer does not have one of these, but I hear they are a riot. 50 mpg and Real getup and power. You see, the gas engine and electric motor can work in the same period. All of this, while you are at the gas station in your waving friends.
Finally Honda has all models of the same engine, with the exception of Si. Its going to have a 197-hp engine, together with a few other goodies, and should be able to smoke the competition, as always. I hope I have the opportunity to meet the new Civic Si.
